Hey uhm Alan Orr, does wing chun work in a street fight,
And another question are you still putting your wing chun men in your mma competitions
I just need help because I’m just a beginner of wing chun
If you’re still putting wing chun men in mma how many did they win
Of course it works, why else would I be teaching it?
Yes my guys still fight MMA, Boxing, Kickboxing. We have won 100’s of fights.
Hey alan Orr since you use wing chun in mma how many did they win using it
The guys have had 100’s of fights and won many titles. Our win rate has been very good. I think it would be over 80%
I’ve heard you’ve made mma magazines and you travel the world, how did you find your sifu Robert chu
I traveled to LA to train with him
How many times have you travelled with him
Many times over 14 years. Plus he came to the UK many times.
Sifu, this question is referring to the Snake Hands lesson (SNT part one, lesson 7). After performing the final small Huen Sao I have mistakenly been drawing up my fingers starting from my little finger, rather than my index finger.
When performing Lap Sao is there a subtle difference between doing it one way or the other?
Also, Sifu, after crossing the hands at the beginning of the form (SNT part one, lesson 6) I have been emphasising the same ‘finger curling’ as I withdraw my fists. Is this wrong?
Thank you
As we are working to be softer in our form the grab can be lighter. The Iron body training we work on hard grip training. The form we want to how force on opening the channels.
Hey Alan, i just finished the Primer and Structural Blueprint course and i gotta say its jam packed with all the elements you need to be aware of how to develop a true kinesthetic sense of the “The Micro Cosmic Orbit”.
Alan, on the SNT and 6 core elements part two, 2nd section, video 4 on the Belt Channel and backwards striking you mention the application of the backwards Gum Sau…
I used to play with a Chen girl and she used to grab what she called “The Meat” on my muscles…
How do you say to grab or pinch like that in Chinese?
i know several areas that cause your belt to somewhat lose its centre of gravity from a simple pinch or grab…
Thanks and Best, Ed
Great to hear your enjoying the training!
haha grab or pinch in Chinese – not my area as I;m not a Chinese speaker
Some kung fu styles say the monkey grabs the peaches!
Ed Martin
To grab = QiÇŽng
Pinch like that = niē xià ng
thank you Sir
Sifu Alan enjoying your online training courses, will you be making a Chi Sao explained training program ??
Lee
Great!
Yes Chi Sao Course will be coming for sure.
Yes very much so. Coming in the next month or so
Sifu, I am working with ‘Micro Cosmic Breathing’ (SNT First Form – Qi Gong Foundation Level. Lesson 9). I understand how to use the method while performing SNT first section and the form’s standing postures, but while performing the second and third section at ‘normal’ speed should I return to ‘Natural Breathing’ (Lesson 6), or attempt to continue with the ‘Micro Cosmic Breathing’ visualization?
Thank you, Sifu
Hi Mike
First section is Natural – then you can work on Nei Dan
Second is reverse breathing
Third is Natural – fast combat style. One breath one movement feeling the connection
best Sifu
